Thanks for coming to AlabamaRockCompany- After searching and finding many incomplete list of lakes we decided to research and find all the lakes in Alabama! If we miss any let us know and we will list it!

The  Department of Conservation and Natural Resources  and The Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division manages23 public lakes in 20 counties across the state.  There are many more privately owned lakes owned by  Tennessee Valley Authority, Army Corps of Engineers, Alabama Electric Cooperativec, Georgia Power,  Birmingham Water Board,  Alabama Power,  City of Tuscaloosa, City of Mobile, Alabama and others.

Bankhead Lake a reservoir on the Black Warrior River that begins in Walker County in  Alabama.

Bibb County Lake i100-acre lake l 5 miles north of Centreville off Alabama Highway 5.  Contact Phone Number (205) 938-2124.

Chambers County Lake 183-acre lake located 5 miles southeast of Lafayette on Chambers County Road 83.  Chambers County  with courtesy pier by the boat ramp.  Contact Phone Number (334) 864-8145.

Clay County Lake is a group of 3 lakes of 13-, 23-, and 38-acre lakes located 1 mile west of Delta on Alabama Highway 47.  Contact Phone Number (256) 488-0038.

Coffee County Lake – is an 80-acre lake is located 4 miles northwest of Elba off Coffee County Road 54.  Contact Phone Number (334) 897-6833.

Crenshaw County Lake is a 53-acre lake located 5 miles south of Luverne off US Highway 331.  Contact Phone Number (334) 335-2572.

Dale County Lake or Ed Lisenby Lake 92-acre lake  1 mile north of Roy Parker Road (Dale County Road 36) in Ozark.  Contact Phone Number. (334) 774-0588.  Open 7 days a week. Will be closed December 22, and re-open January 2, 2008.

Dallas County Lake is a 100-acre lake located 11 miles south of Selma off Alabama Highway 41.  Contact Phone Number (334) 874-8804.

DeKalb County Lake is a 120-acre lake located 1 mile north of Sylvania off County Road 47. Contact Phone Number (256) 657-1300.

Escambia County Lake or Leon Brooks Hines Lake is a 184-acre lake located in the Conecuh National Forest 23 miles east of Brewton off Co. 11. The coordinates of Escambia County Lake are N31 01.513 and W086 49.914. Escambia County Lake has a courtesy pier by the boat ramp. Phone No. (251) 809-0068.

Fayette County Lake is a 60-acre lake located 6 miles southeast of Fayette off County Road 26.  Phone No. (205) 932-6548.

Geneva County Lakes consists of two lakes, 33- and 32-acres in size, located 20 miles southwest of Enterprise off County Road 63.  Contact Phone Number (334) 248-2727.

Lamar County Lake is a 68-acre lake located 8 miles west of Vernon on Alabama Highway 18, then 5 miles north off County Road 21. Contact Phone Number. (205) 695-8283.

Lee County Lake is a 130-acre lake located 6 miles southeast of Opelika.  Take Alabama Highway 169 south from I-85 then 1 mile west on Lee County Road 146.  Lee County Lake is the only Alabama State Public Fishing Lake with fishermen cabins and has a courtesy pier by the boat ramp.  Contact Phone Number. Escambia County Lake or Leon Brooks Hines Lake is a 184-acre  lake located in the Conecuh National Forest roughly 23 miles east of Brewton off Co. 11.

Madison County Lake is 105-acre lake located 11 miles east of Huntsville.  Additional facilities: trout fishing from Thanksgiving-March.   Contact Phone Number (256) 776-4905.

Marion County Lake is a 37-acre lake located 6 miles north of Guin off US Highway 43.  Contact Phone Number(205) 921-7856.

Monroe County Lake is a 94-acre lake located 5 miles west of Beatrice off County Road 50.  (From Monroeville take Alabama Highway 21 north to Beatrice, then left on Alabama Highway 265 for 1/4 mile, then left on Robins Street (County Road 50) for 2-1/2 miles to the lake.)  The coordinates of Monroe County Lake are N31 41.915 and W087 15.698. Some self-contained camping sites are available beginning Memorial Day; call for required reservations.  Contact Phone Number(251) 789-2104.

Pike County Lake is a 45-acre lake is located 5 miles south of Troy off County Road 39. The lake is open seven days a week during daylight hours. No rentals nor concessions are available.  Contact Phone Number (334) 242-3471.

Walker County Lake is a 163-acre lake located 3 miles southeast of Jasper off old US Highway 78.  Walker County Lake has a courtesy pier by the boat ramp.  Contact Phone Number (205) 221-1801.

Washington County Lake or J. Emmett Wood  Contact Phone Number (334) 242-3471 or (251) 626-5153. City of Millry manages the lake now.  RV camping and Primative  available  reserve today!

Weiss Lake is located in Cherokee County  and is 32,000 acres .  The lake is famous for its huge crappie and is know as “Crappie Capital of the World.”

Walter F. George Lake is an artificial lake on the Chattahoochee River between Georgia and Alabama .   Also called Lake Eufaula, from the town of Eufaula, Alabama on its western banks.

Guntersville Lake northeast Alabama between Guntersville  and Bridgeport. Guntersville Dam created the lake along  the Tennessee River  which runs 75 miles Nickajack Dam to Guntersville Dam.Being  Alabama’s largest lake at 69,000 acres it for sure a great a wonderful vacation destination. Guntersville State Park is wonderful destinations for fishing, camping(primitive, or hook ups) Lodging, Cabins, Golf, Hiking,  Horse trails, Biking, Beach, fishing pier, picnics, boat rentals. Animal watching (deer),  Eagle’s and other birds  and a convention complex also. Can’t forget about Bassmaster Weekend Series that is hosted there also!

Lake Harding,  also called Bartlett’s Ferry Lake a 5,850-acre reservoir on the Chattahoochee River.  Bartlett’s Ferry Dam is what makes the lake with a depth of over 100 feet deep at the dam itself.  Some of the lake is located inHarris County, Georgia and some portions of the lake going into Alabama.
