HighFalls- Located near Geraldine , Alabama High Falls is an Amazing waterfalls located on the Town creek and for sure one of Alabama’s most beautiful. Roughly  about 35 foot high by 300 foot wide. The falls rushes during winter months and will become a trickle in summer months. The falls is a famous meeting area local teenagers, churchs and other groups. An old bridge once stood above the falls and was destroyed by fire and rebuilt in recent years.  The falls is managed by the Dekalb County  and has an attendant on duty.

Griffinfalls

Griffin Falls- Another great Sand Mountain waterfall, Griffin Falls is located in Dawson, Alabama . The falls  is a cascading drop of about 40 feet that crashes into the huge boulders below. The fall also has a large cave like opening half way on the falls. It is about a 10 minut hike up the falls and well worth. During the summer the falls may be barely dripping. The area is also a popular rock climbing destinations with  great faces  for sweet rock climbing. I  used to climb the walls and go to see some great birds of pray in the area. The sand mountain cliff  is perfect for large birds with flat faces and natural perches.  I once camped under the falls and got a surpise after it got dark.  While looking around I noticed something glowing and come to find out they were glow worms living in the soil.
