The Chief Ladiga Trail runs from Woodland Park in Anniston into Georgia and connects to the Silver Comet Trail. Approximately 31.5 long the Ladiga trail connects to the Silver Comet at a whopping 94 miles long. Along the path you can expect lush pastures and swampy wetlands with a background of the beautiful Talladega Mountains. From the start of Ladiga you will pass through Weaver, Jacksonville, Epsom Hill, and Piedmont, Alabama. Passing right beside the Jacksonville State Campus the trail offers a beautiful benefit to JSU students.
On a beautiful day you can expect to come across bike riders and joggers enjoying the trail. If you are lucky you might ride up on a deer but most likely will see all kinds of birds and other small critters enjoying the trail also.

Expect to get a glimpse of small town Alabama life as you pass through the old town of Piedmont, Alabama. The Chief Ladiga cuts through downtown piedmont where beautiful Eubanks Welcome Center greets visitors. As you ride across Piedmont you see Historic downtown as well a great view of the old city streets with a mountain backdrop. Just on the edge of town you will come across a mystic creek that will delight your eyes and ears as the cool water flows from the Talladega Mountains.
Just east of Piedmont you will come across Dugger Mountain Wilderness !

This is where I got to on my last journey on the trail. I did talk to a local on the trail that said about 5 miles down the trail I would come across a cool swamp. I was excited to make to the mountain and could not wait to see what was on down the trail. From looking at a map it looked like a good 10 miles to the Georgia state line where it connects to the Silver Comet Trail that runs roughly 60 miles into Georgia and ends near Smyrna, Georgia.

The Silver Comet Trails passes through Cedartown, Fish Creek, Rockmart, Dallas, Hiram, Power Springs, and ends in Smyrna
