  • 13. Tannehill Historical State Park Daniel Hillman, a Pennsylvania furnaceman, first built a bloomery forge on the banks of Roupes Creek in 1830, where he had found the richest deposits of brown ore in his experience. The forge produced up to 22 tons a day and came to a crashing end and fire burnt them down! In 1865 it ended when the Union set fire and over 500 people workers lost a home!
  • 14. Vulcan Park and Museum Vulcan, Birmingham, Alabama’s colossal statue is the world’s largest cast iron statue and considered one of the most memorable works of civic art in the United States. Designed by Italian artist Giuseppe Moretti and cast from local iron in 1904, it has overlooked the urban landscape of Alabama’s largest city since the 1930s.
