The Montgomery Snagboat is one of the only surviving steam-powered sternwheelers in the U.S. Playing a major role in the building of the Alabama–Tombigbee–Tennessee River Project it is one of only 2 Army Corps of Engineers snagboats that has survived. The steam-powered snagboat has been restored and is currently museum boat in Carrollton, Alabama. In 1889 it became a National Historic Landmark.
